This is one of the quieter places in Playa Del Carmen and it’s perfect for travelers who don’t wish to party every night but still love to meet other travelers by staying in a hostel.
Guests are super happy to stay in this hostel and they all talk about the awesome service and the oasis of peace and quiet to get away from the loud city center. Still, this hostel is located on 10th Avenue, so you don’t have to walk far to find the action!
Hostels on the road only offers dorm beds, but they are very cheap and breezy. Breakfast is included in the room price, as is a free city tour.
This place has a rooftop swimming pool and an on-site bar.
Casa Blanca Playa – The Best hostel for couples
Casa Blanca Playa is located in a quieter part of the city, but still near 5th Avenue. This is not a party hostel and the place is designed for you to have a relaxed stay near the ocean and near the city, but not smack in the middle of it.
The Casa Blanca Playa is excellent for romantic holidays with your partner and they offer beautiful and bright rooms.
Unfortunately, this hostel does not have a pool, but they do offer free breakfast, which is included in your room price.
Best places to stay in Playa del Carmen
Most of the atmosphere in Playa Del Carmen is on 5th Avenue, which is close to the sea. This street is bulking with shops, restaurants, and bars. So it’s also the noisiest area in town and everything is a little more expensive around this area.
The higher the number of the Avenida, the further you’re away from the city center. Avenue number jump by 5 every street. So 10th Avenue is still pretty close to everything, but once you pass 30th Avenido, you quite a bit out of the city center.
Calle streets run in the other direction and they jump in numbers of 2. The Calles start at the ADO bus station with Avenida Benito Juarez and the next one is Calle 2. There are tons of Calle streets and even when you’re near Calle 42, you’re still in the city center.
Calle 12 is the major party hub, so if you want to party and be able to crawl home, stay near Calle 12!
Conclusion
Playa Del Carmen is a place for tourism and party. So most of the hostels you find here accommodate for parties.
The first time we visited Playa del Carmen, we didn’t really like the excessive party vibe there.
But we went back later and the town really started to grow on us.
If you’re on a party holiday, you will definitely love this city. But if you’re a quiet backpacker in Mexico who loves a party every now and then, but also wants to get some nights of quality sleep then you should find a hostel a little further away from the party scene.
