Life Outback is Never a Drag
Broken Heel festival takes place in September each year in the Australian outback, about 1100km west of Sydney.
People travel from all over the country to attend this feast of extravaganza!
Broken Heel is a celebration of the theatrical anniversary of the iconic film ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ at the Palace Hotel in Broken Hill.
The party starts on Thursday with a welcome party. The next few days, you can expect a variety of drag shows, comedy, cabaret, live music, and activities. There’s also a drag market where visitors can shop for drag outfits and attributes.
If you enjoyed the film ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’, then Broken Heel is one of these bucket list events to add to your list!
Fun fact: the regular Broken Hill Outback Explorer train from Sydney to Broken Hill has a special operating schedule for the event and visitors can catch the ‘Silver City Stiletto Train’ to travel to Broken Heel Festival.
